Dresden Files

Hello Paul, I hope the subject isn't getting old for you, I see you have quite a following from that series. I recently discovered the show on netfix and was disappointed that it only lasted 12 episodes. The quality of the writing and acting was 1st rate. I will keep an eye out for your future projects, you can count me as a fan.

Doug

Praise for Paul

Your portrayal of Harry Dresden is so good that I will always think of you as Harry Dresden when I read Jim Butcher's books. It's amazing how well you speak American English. You must have a great ear for language. I read that you learned Hindi for another movie. That couldn't have been easy. I think you are a truly dedicated actor. People don't realize how much effort and practice and time and will power it takes to make the job look so easy and natural. Like so many others, I wish that you would continue acting in new episodes of the Dresden Files or in movies of the books. You must look older now, but for a true actor of your caliber, that difference from the original character would only be a momentary distraction. You know how to capture the essence of the character. Good luck with your acting career. I will continue to watch for the name, Paul Blackthorne, when I look for favorite actors.

Dresden Files

Paul!!! Just recently watched ALL twelve episodes of Dresden Files on Netflix and loved them!!! I can't believe that show was not renewed!! Your portrayal of Harry was so endearing! I felt like I knew him personally! As much as I love Supernatural, I found Dresden Files to be more refreshing and entertaining! I have read about attempts to get it back on the air, and I hope that comes to fruition! Wishing you the best in future endeavors! Hope to see more of you on TV and maybe the big screen. Blessings to you and yours!

PRAISE

I just want to say I LOVED you in SEVERAL things and I simply love your acting. You were wonderful in Lagaan, Dresden Files, The Gates. And I've seen you on Medium and Deadwood. You're just one of my favorite actors and terribly underrated. You also are just one of the most beautiful men I've ever seen before in my life. As an artistic person, I appreciate your great talent, and as a gay may I appreciate your aesthetically pleasing rugged looks. Thanks for being so awesome at what you do. I hope to see you in LOTS of other productions. And again, handsome and talented are understatements.

Event

Paul,
Check out the Dragon Con event held annually in Atlanta, Ga. Be there this year!

PS - awesome photography. I've been starting my own galleries too.

Coincidence?

I found myself watching Medium tonight, season 1 episode 11, I Married a Mind Reader, and spotted a character named Henry Stoller. This episode aired in 2005 for the first time. What I found odd was the scene where Henry and his wife go to a club called The Dresden. Two years later in 2007, The Dresden Files airs it's first episode, with Paul Blackthorne, who portrayed Henry Stoller in the aforementioned episode, as the title character. I know The Dresden Files is based on a series of books written by Jim Butcher, so I have to wonder, is this just a major coincidence, or was The Dresden Files in the works and the club name was a hint of things (great things, I might add...too bad it only lasted a season) to come? I would love to know. I don't normally post random comments on celebrity websites, but this one is bugging me. I'd love to know if this is just a fluke. Thanks, Sarah.

the Dresden Files

Just wanted to let you know i think you did an awesome job on the dresden files series and I miss it all the time but you played Harry the way i wanted to see him! thank you I wish you everything good and still have my fingers crossed someday the show will come back with you in it!

Good Luck

Hi Paul, just a few words to wish you well. We sat at the side of your mum on the flight from Paphos to East Midlands airport on the 20th of July. What a wonderful woman, she is very proud of you, rightly so, and the flight was a pleasure as she engaged us with her stories and thoughts. With that lady in your corner, you won't go far wrong. Good luck with all you do x

You are a brilliant

You are a brilliant photographer, Mr. Blackthorne. You capture your subjects with amazing precision. It has been a pleasure to browse your website, and I always enjoy your work as an actor. You are an artist to be reckoned with on all levels.

Sorry

Dear Paul,
I`m sorry to say that you are not that known in Germany. Worse for me, as I would like to see more of your work in Movies or on TV.
I`ve read all "DresdenFile" books so far and was happy to get the DVDs of the TV-series as a birthday-present.
While the stories are only very loosely based on the books, I enjoyed your Harry Dresden immensely.
What a shame that the series was stopped. In Germany it didn`t run at all.
"24" where you played a villain isn`t aired here either.
Now I hunt for DVDs featuring you.
I do hope to see more of you in the future and in the meantime I watch the Dresden Files again......
All the best whishes for you from a new Fan from Bavaria,Germany.
Nici.

Your Site

I always enjoy looking at your site.
You take amazing photographs, as well as being a great actor. I am planning on going to see your new photo exhibit soon. Thanks for sharing and keeping up the good work.
take care,
Morgan

Though I had seen you in films prior, your work in Dresden has me hooked and I am looking forward to your future acting outputs. Keep up the good work, sir. Sorry I am so late in cluing in to your accomplishments. (Am looking forward to the documentary.)

The photography is good, it appears you have not only an eye for aesthetics, but a cheeky sense of humor as well. Nice!

Ok, that is all. Stay fabulous.

American Crossroads & Dresden Files

Looking forward to seeing your Documentary Film Project, American Crossroads.

I've been trying for years to contact whom ever I can to try to get Dresden Files back on the air. I signed petitions as soon as I found there was no next season.
You are GREAT in the part of Dresden. It is SOOO refreshing to see that others feel the same way as I do after the passing years. I STILL WANT TO SEE A RETURN OF THE DRESDEN FILES. You think with all the new supernaturel shows flourishing now, all the vampire shows that I love as well as Supernatural, one of my very favorites whick I fight for every season. I would think that Dresden Files would flourish once again. I always thought that the show was never properly promoted nearly enough or at all! I found the show by total accident myself.
Let us know how you feel about the part and if you think you would want to help promote getting the show back on the air. THE TIME IS GREAT FOR THE RETURN OF A GREAT WIZARD. Don't you think? The show has great loyal fans.
Love your work, acting and your photography.

Dresden Fan Always!

Philanthropy

Thank you Paul. It is beautiful to see a man use his power/position for humanity and in the protection mother earth. ‘Be the change you want to see’. I hope others will follow your lead.
Blessings

Dresden Files, Burn Notice, White Collar....

Paul, thank you for your great portrayals of memorable characters. I'm rewatching Dresden Files and your nuanced performances infuse Harry with a life and reality that make him your own; I cannot envision anyone else doing justice to the role. Add to this a great ensemble cast and intriguing storytelling, and it is one of my all-time favorite shows. I was one of the regular bloggers on the ABC series Lost, and one of the few regrets I have about that show is that they did not enlist your talents before the final curtain call last spring. My wife and I enjoy the USA Channel shows and were pleased to see you guest starring in some of our favorites there. My daughter is blooming as a photographer in her own regard, and we really have enjoyed seeing your own work on this site. Well, time to go now and watch the "Storm Front" episode.... Thanks again, Todd & Janice Hostager

Dresden Show

Hi Paul. Happy New Year 2011. For Christmas, my husband bought me the Wii, just so I we could install Netflix unlimited movies. The first thing we watched was the entire Season 1 of Dresden. I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT. I remember watching it when it was on the air and thought, he looks like he's George Hamilton's son. I was sure I was right. After reading your bio, I guess I was wrong. Well, you are very cute and love your acting abilities. Very believable and love the Sci-Fi, Demon, Warlock, Wizard thing too. Any chance of reviving the Dresden show? Your photos and humanitarian work is very commentable too. Tell Nicholas (Cage) to get on it - I see from his list of recent movies, he too like the supernatural. Thanks, Deb

Magic

Hi Paul, I did not know about Dresden Files and casually I saw the first episode. After that.., in two days, I saw all the others eleven and it was very exciting. I like magic stories and films and I want to tell you that you're a very expressive actor and I liked your style in that saga. I hope to see others films about magic with you as starring.
Best regards
Patrizio

Hi! Paul,im a biggest fan of

Hi! Paul,im a biggest fan of you.i really like your acting in 24,its the best..your such a good actor and hope to see you soon in big screen.

Dresden Files

Love your work in the show. Would love to see movie/new episodes of the Dresden Files.

Ps

Perhaps Lime green. Or is that too OTT? You probably spent hours working the website out already, so apologies if you have been through the colour cycle already.

Dressden files

Me too, the Dressden files are great. May I also comment that your stylish website might have even more pizzazz if you had the contrast colour in green, which goes better with grey. Also in the career overview home page, if you put in subheadings (ie years and less ' and then...'s ) it would be more dynamic. Really hope your career continues to flourish.

Interacción y felicitarte

Hi Paul, wooow amaze me, I saw your work on lipstick jungle, and I loved it, never thought you to do all this, and I love it. I'm from Mexico, and the writing of this letter must be dreadful, because I have not much knowledge about your language, so I've helped a translator.
Well, all you do is amazing, I love you to all those things you do will be held in my country, I love photography, I have not studied Kapteyn and something about my resources can not sustain a career, but I think you can help so many people with it, and it is interesting to create more ways to help based on the picture, but not only in America but around the world as you do. I'd like to see if you have any affection for Mexico. if you're interested talk to me, you can contact me at my blog. www.emma-www-elisa.blogspot.com or my email.
my biggest greetings and congratulations

Beautiful Photographs

Sorry, It seems as though I have stumbled across this website a little late in the game.
Your photography is really very good. I especially love the perspectives in the bamboo forest and the Duomo in Firenze. Have you considered taking your photographs/fundraiser out to other cities. Austin, a liberal mecca in the otherwise foreign country of Texas, would be particularly receptive. Also maybe the artsy cities of Taos and Sante Fe in New Mexico, Chicago, and even San Fransico.
I have yet to catch the documentary American Crossroads. Info on it is hard to find thanks to Carl Rove. My local NPR station hosts Cinema Tuesdays. I can make a request for its showing through their website. Another documentary that people here could be interested in is Tapped about Americans destructive obsession with bottled water.
There are a lot of interesting comments and articles to read up on thanks to this site. I hope you will post more pictures soon.

Where have I been!!!

WOW! I've only just discovered The Dresden Files and can't believe it ran for only one season. Loved the characters and story lines, and of course now a huge fan of Paul's! Hope there's a chance to see more of Paul on our screens in the future, not to mention also seeing more of his incredible photography. Now if only he'd plan a trip back to OZ!
Marg, Australia

Like others, I just

Like others, I just discovered your work through the Dresden Files and am sad that it was only for a season. I don't watch TV, but will be looking forward to experiencing more of your work through the documentary and your photography. Best wishes! Susan

Wow

Generally, I'm very level headed, but a friend was watching a show with you in it & I felt like I had been hit by lightning when I saw you. In another world or time, I'd stay it meant something. But in this one, knowing you are famous & thus inaccessible to normal folk, just know, you have a fan. A nice normal one, not to worry.

Also, from a photographer point of view, love your work. Thank you for sharing it with the world. :)

Fan love & Question :)

Hey, Paul, I'm a huge fan of your work as an actor, loved you in "The Dresden Files" and "Lipstick Jungle", and have always thought you're the most handsome man I've ever seen. I just love your smile! So, so beautiful and adorable! :-) And I've always wanted to write to you and ask you a silly little question, but felt embarrassed to do it. But I've worked up my courage now! I was wondering if you're ticklish and, if so, where? Lots of love and regards from Bulgaria,

jo xx

Dresden Files

I recently started reading the Dresden Files paperback series, and THEN my daughter told me it was -- well, had been -- a TV series on SyFy, so I bought the Season One collection. Great series: very good writing; very good production; excellent acting all around. I thought that you, Paul, captured the character portrayed in the books really, really well. Thanks for all of your effort at thoughtful and accurate character development.

It's really mysterious to me that some shows of such superior quality don't "catch on" with the viewing public when lots of really trite, uninteresting stuff does. This series was decidedly worth continuing for several seasons, at least.

I wish you continued good acting success.

Regards,

Tom

Kudos for The Gates

It's good to see Paul back in a series (The Gates), and I hope his character sticks around a while. I haven't seen all of his onscreen work since The Dresden Files, but have caught him in a few shows, and he's done well with each character (some very good bad guys). Cheers, and good health to you Paul.

The Gates

I just watched an episode of the new show The Gates and was surprised and delighted to see Paul as a vampire! Hopefully his character will appear in more episodes to come. :)4AXQC

re: the gates

Yes! I was so happy to see him! We both said together (hubby and I) "Is that Paul???" Hope they don't kill him off. The show is a little too "Soap Opera" for me, but if Paul is kept on, well, I'll have to watch. We are always happy when we see a favorite actor!
