From France

Magic, mysterious coincidences are among us…and this is not another chapter of the ‘Dresden Files’ - I wish I were talented enough for that-

I subscribed to your place in May and immediately noticed the first pics you had put on it.

I am now glad to see you are adding some other interesting stuff...I like the "writing section" and especially the text dating back to 1652 you've discovered in a church : excellent.

Though we haven't had "Harry Dresden" in France I have already had the pleasure of discovering your acting talent with some DVDs.

May I add this contribution to your page ?
This is a poem which was written and forgotten in a book I bought in an antiques shop, in London, some years ago.('The Tempest' by Shakespeare)

...After forgetting it for some more other years on a shelf, the paper on which it had been written, fell down on the floor, as I was finally opening the book and thinking I could manage to read it, .....this year (my level in English being better, now).

AND, and here comes now Harry DRESDEN's atmosphere ! : )
Because, the other night, in June, I took the decision of looking for the book, again, with the purpose of trying* AGAIN...
and succeed may be, to read it. At last.

This was witten a long time ago, much before the U-tube era.

London, August 24, 1934.

‘Dear Bernie,
Remembrance has a silky way,
That binds true love together ;
And if we never break this tie,
We shall be friends forever.'

MAGIC isn’t it ?

Kind regards.

Mr Blackthorne,

It has been a while since I last visited your website so I have really
enjoyed looking at all the things that have been added.

I have loved your photographs ever since you started posting them.
The new photograph of the sheperd's hands is wonderful. You can
see his whole life in his hands.

I hope you had a wonderful trip to India and I am looking forward to
the new season of Lipstick Jungle.

Hello from Nebraska

Where've you been all my life! Gosh, you are quite an amazing actor (and not too hard on the eyes). I have recently started watching the Dresden Files and think it is amazing. That motivated me to look into your web page and see all of your photographs, which are brilliant.

Paul thank you so much for being patient and kind when I asked for your photo! I know you were at the concert as a private citizen enjoying your private time so I do appreciate you giving me a piece of that. The photo came out great, although not as great as your photography! I did not realize you were photographer too. Well good luck with all your endeavors and I hope you enjoy the US as much as I enjoyed the UK.

Dresden Rules ...

Hello I´m Javier from Madrid Spain , I only want to say that Dresden Files is fantastic and Paul an the rest of the

cast are awesome ... Paul you´re a great actor and when you act your eyes don´t lie... Bye and only add that in

Spain there´s no only flamenco and bullfigthing on t.v , we broadcast t.v series like yours ... have fun.

Sean Connery of the 21 st century

How come nobody's noticed the likeness and ressemblence between Paul and Sean Connery... It's amazing.

Sean Connery

They have!
There is an episode with Paul on Medium set in the 60s, in which a character on the show remarks on how much Paul's character looks like Sean Connery and that he should have been picked to play the role of James Bond.

I myself just couldn't believe how 60s he looked. This is why I just googled the name and came upon this website. I have to shamefully admit that I hadn't hear of Paul until today, when I was watching the episode with him on Medium. I am very intrigued - also by the photographs and will check out his work, especially Lagaan.

Trying to reinvent the wheel...

Well, I got interested in you after reading a couple of books from the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. I have seen some episodes of the show previous to reading the books. I must say, they really botched it up, except for one thing, casting you as Harry Dresden. You are pretty much spot on for the role. As someone already mentioned, your accent was very good in the show. I didn't even pick up on any British while watching it. I have something of a thing for accents. Your natural one is very charming.
Anyways, the reason for my post is that I was pretty disappointed by the lack of information on you out there. Heck, I was even nurturing an idea of collecting photos and articles of you so as to put it all in one spot on the web. Then, I stumbled upon this website. Even though there is still not a lot of information on you here, it’s understandable; privacy is such a rare commodity. Plus, your interests and photographs speak volumes.
Best of luck in all of your endeavours.

Are you single?

Are you single?

Just to say 'Hi'

Hi Paul,

I'm Yamin from Bangladesh. Right now I'm watching the 3rd season of 24. I am really liking your role of Stephen Saunders... But when you appeared for the first time on 24... There was a bell ringing in my mind, "I saw this guy before"... After completing 19th episode, I googled you and found out that I've seen you before almost 6 years ago in Lagaan.. I am just amazed... I was thinking over and over again that I've seen you somewhere... and that was SIX YEARS AGO!!! I still remembered your face...

Anyway, I really liked your acting on both the occasions (though I haven't finished watching 24 yet).. But seems like you don't do much acting and have a little filmography.. But please keep going, I appreciate you..

Another thing, I have come know from this site that you are a very good photography... I liked your work, especially - Man Pushing Bike in Beijing, Sydney Opera House, Pigeons and a Temple in Gujarat, Saltwater Swimming Pool in Sydney... I myself try to a little bit of photography.. Please visit www.flickr.com/photos/yamin... By the way, what camera gear do you use?

Anyway, I hope I'm not annoying you with a long letter... Keep going with you acting, photo shooting, and writing. Wish you all the best. Thank You.

Where have you been all my life?

Hey Paul! I just rented Dresden Files this weekend and watched all of it back to back - I couldn't quit! You were amazing! I loved every minute and was very sad to learn that it wouldn't be returning - and to find out that I am waaaay behind the times! This was my first time to see you and I must say, your American accent was so perfect that I was in shock when I heard your real accent the first time! If I thought I had a crush before...that sealed the deal! I kept thinking, "this guy should be Bond..." and I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one on here that feels that way.

I'm glad I found this site b/c I now realize the depth of your talents and interests. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself and I will continue to watch for you anywhere I can find you on TV!

Hello! I like ur acting in lipstick jungle!

Hello Paul!

I've watching Lipstick Jungle, and I think it's a pretty good show. You may not have the principal role, but you're doing a good job. I looked in wikipedia to find you because I thought you're cute. It's cool to know you're a photographer, the pictures are interesting, most of all because they show culture and folklore. I'm studying photography, it would be an honour if you visit my site: http://hector-montiel.deviantart.com

Cheers!

prince charming

Stephen Saunders from "24"

Hello Mr. Blackthorne!

I'm here in Hamburg, Germany watching season three of 24 which my girlfriend from Brazil lent me. I had to google and wikipedia your character, Stephen Saunders, to figure out who you are. From one of the databases, I noticed you had a homepage. So, here I am leaving a comment in your guestbook! ;)

I'm enjoying watching your performance. 24 is an exciting show and you make a great villain! It's also nice to discover you are a photographer. From the selection of photos cycling through, my favorites are the self-portrait through the reflection of a golden globe and the older gentleman watching television with the red rose carpet.

Anyway, it's a rainy day in June, so back to more episodes of 24!

Ciao,
Akiko

Dreams

Hi Paul,

I feel very very silly writing something on your page, but I had a very vivid dream about you last night, nothing sexual before you run screaming from the room!! But I felt compelled to find your webpage in case you had a dream about a good looking brunette lol. And can I just say, I can't believe you're english!! You do such a fantastic job on the Dresden Files, which I love by the way, and I never knew you weren't american!

Anyway, keep up all the good work, and how can you be a brilliant actor and photographer, and still look so goddamn sexy? :-)

Take care for now,

Dee x

Dresden Files

I have been watching the Dresden Files on Sky One, here in London. I saw you were English and have to say well done on the American Accent.
I have really enjoyed watching you in The Dresden Files and wondered if you were planning on filming anymore?

Keep up the good work .We need more actors like you, going over to the States and showing them how it's done.

P.S. Really like the photography.

You are an amazing actor.

You are an amazing actor. Thank you for breathing such life into Harry Dresden, and I look forward to seeing you in a starring role again on the small screen.

I have an odd question. In a Times Square subway tunnel, in New York, there is a hair salon with model photos from the 80s/90s. A friend and I saw it and independently came to the conclusion it is a younger you. Of course, we can't really be certain unless you confirm it. If you read these comments, I would love to know if it really is you.

Here is a link to a picture I took of the photo: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v50/Adalanne/100_9426.jpg

Love your photos!

I would just like to say I think you are an amazing actor and photographer. You have much talent, and it's reassuring to find another person who is so concerned about the environment. Your links and resources have been very helpful and interesting.

I hope you have success and happiness.

The Dresden Files

Paul:

Congrats on all your accomplishments and photography and contributions to causes! Way cool! I've been reading The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. Then, I bought the TV Series on DVD (never realized it was on....dang it!) You really bring the book character to life and you do him justice! Thank you for all your talent and sharing it with all of us!

Best of luck in all you do (Lipstick Jungle....another series I need to start watching). I'll be buying one of your photos soon. They are absolutely wonderful!

007

Paul,

The first time I saw you as Stephen Saunders in 24 I was thinking 007. You naturally capture James Bond suave debonair persona. I hope to see you in a Bond like role in the future, or even perhaps as James Bond.

Encouragement and another nudge

I agree with Teresa and Sandy, it would be very interesting to read what you have written. Based on all the places you have been and the people you have met you should have some very interesting stories.

As we travel through life we have our own unique perspective of the world around us, we grow through listening and reading how others perceive the world.

When we start a new endeavor we judge our ability by what others have done instead of letting our work stand on its own merit. I was reminded of this 2 months ago when my brother and I were asked if we would like to speak at our father's funeral. When I read the rough draft of what my brother was going to say I compared it to what I had written and mine paled in comparison. My brother is the chief editor for a magazine and has been writing professionally for about 30 years and that experience was evident in what he had written. After some reflection I realized that it was what we said not whose style was more eloquent that people would remember. I do have to admit that it gave me a tremendous sense of pride when he told me, "You done good." after I presented my part of the eulogy. It turned out I was right, it didn't matter that my style was simple compared to his, our friends and family were more interested in the context. By listening to what my brother said I gained a new perspective and insight into who and what our father was.

You have traveled so extensively and had the opportunity to see and experience such diverse cultures that we could all learn more about the world and its people by reading what you write. Based on the photographs you have posted here and your sensitivity to the personality of the characters you play you will be (or should I say are) an excellent writer. The qualities that make you such a good photographer and actor will carry over into your writing. From what I have seen of your photographs and acting you are observant, perceptive, sensitive and have a great sense of fun; all qualities that make a good (dare I say great) writer. So when are we going to get to read what you have written?

Oh, by the way I love the picture of the elephant doing what comes naturally.

Lagaan

I just saw you in the film Lagaan having no idea you were in that wonderful film. You played the villain very well. I absolutely loved it. Been meaning to watch it for years. You and Aamir Khan were great in that film.

Thank you for being a positive influence in the world

While I had seen your acting before, I never really took notice of you till the Dresden Files. While the role of good-guy suits you nicely, and your eyes show a depth of spirit beyond your biological age, it was not until recently that I've come to see more of the goodness within you as shown, in part, on your personal web site. As such, I'd like to say thank you for being you, thank you for keeping on keeping on despite whatever curve-balls may come your way. In a world filled with fear and uncertainty, your energies are a gift to all. Thank you

Amsterdam

Hi Paul,

Weird question but were you in A'dam in ' 99 and did you had a late dinner in a restaurant called
Saparua? That perticular day you were shooting a commercial for Rennies and was planning to go to Malta.

Dresden Files

I would like to see another (several) season(s) of the Dresden Files. I really enjoyed the show. You and the cast were dynamic and fun. I realize it isn't big screen or broadway but you created a loyal fan base who really appreciated the series.

I hope to see you soon (on tv or in movies). Best of luck in whatever you decide to do!

Sincerely,

Other People's Words

Hey, Paul,

I'm a new member of your mailing list, and I've been enjoying the posts and other material on the site. It occurs to me that we haven't seen any of your writing from Grapes' class - only Other People's. Care to share something you've been working on? Inquiring minds, pal.

I hope to see more of your work on the screen - big or small - soon. (I miss The Dresden Files, man.)

Here's hoping you get back to Canada sometime soon.

Best of luck!

Thanks so much for all the new posts on here. I loved the disclaimer of hoping nothing was too offensive (not at all, though I will bypass the deer). I wanted to wish you luck and safe passage to and from India. It sounds like a promising experience. Too bad you don't "twitter" as I'd love to read little tidbits as you go. *grin and a laugh* At any rate, we'll all be anxious to see new photographs from your journey when you return.

Thank you for the writing section. It's my favorite medium of expression. I'll definitely read each as time permits. Any way we can persuade you to post any of your assignments from the class? (I'm sure you knew that was coming from at least one of your visitors here.) As a writer, I know it's sometimes a little difficult to share so this is only a very gentle nudge.

Be safe and enjoy yourself.

Teresa

Greetings from Germany!

Hello!

Hey Paul! We are A&C! U ROCK! OH YEA! Cpt. Russel! WHOOT WHOOT!

Will there ever be more Dresden Files??

Hi Paul,

Do you think there will ever be another Dresden Files? Maybe a tv movie or mini-series? It was such a popular show and I think it would do well. Have you heard anything???

Love your work.

Talented

Hi Paul,

I just wanted to express how much I enjoyed watching you play 'Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden'. What an amazing find for me. I discovered the TV series after the first season was out on DVD. I thoroughly enjoyed the series and the acting put into the character of Harry. You really brought the show to life. I actually just started reading the books and I realize what a fantastic job you did in bringing the character of Harry to "life". Thanks and I hope to see more of The Dresden Files in the future (hope they bring it back).

Misty

WOW! A double threat guy!

I approached you at Universal Studios this past Tuesday, April 15th. It took me the whole day of seeing you all over the park to finally say something. As soon as we arrived home from vacation, I found your website. My family and I really do enjoy your acting, and the pictures you take are amazing! I was sorry to hear about Dresden :( . I am glad you are finding other work, though. We will keep our eyes peeled for lots more Paul Blackthorne! :)
Thanks so much for your time & keep up ALL the great work!
Dean'a
P.S. Perhaps you may want to start a band or do some singing & move that to triple threat!? Heehee

Hello Paul, Greetings from a

Hello Paul,
Greetings from a fan in India. I've loved your work since the Lagaan and days and have followed you through Mangal Pandey and as Dresden...
Do you have any plans of acting in another Hindi movies?
Keep up the good work!

Bond

Has it ever crossed your mind that you would make a perfect James Bond? You would be so much better than Daniel Craig. You have the same style as Pierce Brosnan :)

Memorabilia

Hey I read in an earlier comment that there might be some old memorabilia floating around? Anyway your photos are truely beatuiful, nothing quite like seeing an image that catches something in your heart and sticks with you. I hope the audience with the Dali Lama is all you imagined it would be, what an honor that must be. Most of us Alaskans try to toddle around the country on occasion be we always end up home sooner or later! :) Anyway many props for taking up acting she showing us that handsome face. Cheers! Dani

Hi Paul, I was very

Hi Paul,
I was very disappointed when I heard about the cancellation of the Dresden Files. You look good scruffy.

HI Paul

HI there,
Any new acting projects coming up soon? Fortunately I have Dresden Files first season so if I need a "fix" I can pop that in.
I know I can say that all of your fans anxiously await your next big project; whether it be television, movies or photography.
Take care and have a LOVELY day!
Hugs,
L

Paul's are always the most - always

I was a big fan of the Dresden Files and will miss it terribly. I believe that you are a very strong and versitile actor and become even more convienced when I discovered your website tonight. You're photography is amazing. You have a very good eye. Thank you for sharing that part of yourself with us and for bringing our attention to the beauty that we so often overlook.
Have you considered taking your acting talents and moving behind the camera. Maybe to direction and/or production?
If you do, may i suggest a first project? Constantine: Hellblazer. I bit on the dark side but i truely believe that you're one of a very few people that could bring John Constantine to life. (yea there was a movie made that was supposed to be based on the graphic novel, but... if you cant say something nice.. and i'll leave it there)
Truely, thank you for shareing you talents with the world. You help make it a better one to live in!

The Once and Future Dresden?

The one-season series attracted my wife and me to the Dresden novels. You make a great Dresden.

We're Firefly fans too. Maybe we jinxed you. Sorry about that.

What are the chances of a Dresden movie series? You could be the Sean Connery of a thriving franchise.

The 'jadefrog' website is my wife's photography biz. I don't really have a homepage.

Here's hoping for your success,

Gage

I Love Your Work!!

Hi, I just want you to know how much my whole family loved and misses your show The Dresden Files. I am a huge fan and look forward to seeing you in your upcomming works. Your photos are breath taking. Hope to see you in the movies and Tv soon.

I Gave You A Photo @ The NYComicon in 2007

I don't know if you remember me or even still have the photo I gave you at the Comicon last year, but I do hope that you enjoyed it. You were so polite to me and I just wanted to say thank you. You are the nicest actor I've ever met; I came to the Comicon specifically to meet you and I am very glad I did.

I love TDF, it's one of the few shows I that I can relax to...it always puts a smile on my face. I also really loved Lipstick Jungle. Tivo'd both of them. I also have seen Rhythm and Blues...loved it. I look forward to your next projects!

AJ :)

Nice work

I enjoyed your work on the Dresden files.
Sadly, that is all I have caught.

I loved Deadwood but I honestly don't remember seeing you on the show.
There were quite a few strong characters in that series.

Keep up the good work and good luck in the future.

Paul Blackthorne one of the greats

Dear Mr. Blackthorne,

I just wanted to say you are the perfect person to play Harry Dresden. I really enjoy your acting, you are one of my favorite actors and I also enjoy the photos on your website. Keep up the great work.
